Burger or Hamburger is savored as the most desired fast food meal in the United States. A hamburger is basically a sandwich prepared by stuffing ground meat patty, generally beef, between two slices of a bun cut in half. Hamburger is also famous for its seasoning. Most popular condiments used in hamburgers in the United States are mustard, mayonnaise, and ketchup. Besides ground meat patty, hamburgers are also stuffed with lettuce, onions, tomato slices, pickles, and cheese.
Hamburgers are also categorized into two types in the United States. Fast food hamburger and individual hamburgers served at restaurants are two basic types of burgers served in the United States. The individual hamburgers served at restaurants are prepared using everything including lettuce, onion, tomato, and sliced pickles as well as melted cheese on the patty or crumbled on top. American restaurants also serve veggie burgers for those who don't relish meat. Cheeseburgers are also hot favorite in the United States.
McDonalds is the most popular fast food burger restaurant serving different types of burgers in the United States. On the other hand, there are several restaurants such as Burger King are famous for serving the best hamburgers in the United States. Hope I never have to come back here. This place has a very unprofessional staff that stopped us and told us they couldn't accommodate us because "Mike doesn't like party busses bringing people to the restaurant." What? You don't want a bus full of ladies celebrating a bachelorette party to come spend money in your bar? Ok... Well Mike is obviously an idiot.

I got this big fat sun burnt drunk who's been out on the lake for six hours sitting next to me and he wants to talk about the Tigers and how much they suck this year. All I wanna do is enjoy my Pork Sandwich and cold beer and watch the Tigers get beat up again. Actually, my mind is on football, and that pork sandwich.

Went for the first time and sat on the patio..there was absolutely no lighting so I had to use my phone flashlight to see the menu..Hostess had a major attitude when we said we didn't want to sit in the table right by the hostess stand..Also ordered a burger and there was no ketchup or mayo on it..and no condiments on the table. The service is terrible. The waitress didn't ask how our food was and barely came back to our table to check on us. Oh also there were NO utensils on the table so we had to eat everything with our hands. Safe to say we will never return.

First time here and we thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. Best mussels and great crispy onion rings.

Went here for lunch on a Saturday. It's not quite boating season yet, so we got a table right away and service was immediate. The menu has a lot to offer, and we went for a shrimp cocktail to start, and coconut shrimp as the main course. The shrimp cocktail was standard. No complaints there. The coconut shrimp came out within a minute of us finishing the appetizer. Loved that. The coconut shrimp was really good. Cooked to perfection and the sweet sauce that came with it was great as well. I'm not a fan of French fries, but they have some good ones. Nice and crispy! Prices are great compared to all the other boating bars on the Nautical Mile. I will definitely be back.

The alcoholic drinks we got tasted like pure water and I am not a heavy drinker. The bad part is that the waitress made it sound like they were so strong. Also they brought me the wrong food and not the one I ordered so my boyfriends food was out but not mine. Had to wait another 10 minutes for mine while his was already out.
(1)Rob H.
This place is a dump. Food and service are terrible. I guess if you are already drunk and go in from your boat then you don't know the difference.

We love this place. Great food, view, people, and drinks.... not too much left to ask for. The view on a sunny day cannot be beat. Especially after being in the office for a few hours, getting to come here at lunch is like its own oasis. You must sit outside. Burgers and Lobster Roll are out of control. Great owners, and fun staff. Drive here by car, or navigate by boat; this place is definitely worth a stop! PS: they also expanded this year, so even more room!
(5)Bob N.
YUM they have New England Lobster Rolls. Well... get it in NE not here. For $16.50 the tastiest part of Mikes Lobster Roll was the roll. The lobster I realize is not fresh, i get that but their seemed to be as much celery as lobster and not enough mayo on it. The homemade chips were good but needed salt and both shakers in the 6 pack holder were pepper and the waitress only asked if everything was ok while whizzing past to other tables. What keeps this at 3 stars are the burgers and pretzels. The burger is ok nothing to write home about and the cheesy fries served we were warned to be careful as they were really hot. Really, with the cheese so cold it all pulled up with a frie. The pretzels app are crazy good. They are the large soft pretzels but fried and then sprinkled with sugar.OMG!!!!!! so yummy. Nice views of the boats coming in and out and a very nice place just needs a bit more attention to detail.

Ate lunch at Mike's today with another couple. Service was attentive and deck is nice but we were turned off by the nickel and dime approach of management. For example, an order of smoked fish dip is $9.95 and is served with about 8 crackers. Doing the math, that's 2 crackers a piece. As expected, we ran out of crackers halfway thru. When we asked for some more, you know, to finish dipping in the dip, we were told there'd be a .50 cent charge. Even for regular old saltine packs and not the fancy store bought crackers with a name on them. On the plus side some of the pub food was good (not the dip), good beer selection and the drinks were generous. In conclusion, I'll be back for drinks on the deck but probably visit a different area restaurant to eat.

Being a boater I tend to look for, and probably be more critical of places on the water. The area is a haven for boaters, and boaters get hungry, we're always looking for a decent place for lunch or dinner after a day on the lake. And often disappointed, Mike's is different. I kinda like the place and I kinda don't. Our first visit was a disappointment, the second one was a bit better. It's a small place, so it either feels cozy or cramped. I get more a cramped feeling, unless the patio isn't too busy. Beer choices are slim, cocktails are decent, not watered down, but not a really good pour either. The menu offers some interesting choices, but they just seem to miss the mark, edible but not great. For a lunch on the water, it's not a bad place, but don't come expecting a 5 Star dining experience. Do expect to pay a little over-average prices, but you'll usually get some good service. Mike is a friendly guy and does like to make sure the customers are happy, it just seems that the food could be better, or not having an upcharge for little things like extra crackers or chips with the dips or nacho's. Sometimes it's the little things that can be a turn-off to an otherwise decent place.
(2)Jillian G.
Fried food or burgers. Pretty much it for their food selection. That's a bummer. It's ok. Nice atmosphere. Also overpriced.

Mike's is a great small Resturant on Lake St. Clair, where the Shores meet at Jefferson avenue. This cosy place is run by a very personable and nice business man whose charm rubs off on his staff. For me, even though the food was three stars, I found the staff and service to be delightful and refreshing. In this day in age of servers wanting to "hurry and rush" to flip tables to max out their cash opportunities...tonight's hostess and servers where everything Far-from-THAT. But we're everything more of service and smiles. For me genuineness goes a long way. The lobster roll was packed with fresh loads of lobster meat, and tasted clean and light-not overly sauced with a "mayo-ish aioli". It was the simplest of Po-Boys ever ate, made even simpler by the classic hotdog bun. Mike's on the Water is a nice place to hang out with friends, eat-drink-and-be-merry, all the while enjoying the simple diner's experience. I will be back for sure:)

The first time I went here I was dying to have good food, decent service and give this place a four star rating. Well... They were packed at 9pm and they're kitchen was closed! I was shocked, and pissed, but I didn't hold it against them.... If they want to miss out on a great, hungry crowd, I guess that's on them... On my second visit I put aside my frustration of my prior visit, but I was still super disappointed. Our waitress' name was Nancy. She was an old hag, and kind of trashy. She talked out of turn, made snide jokes, and kept calling the girl that I was there with the "little lady" as if she was 12... She was in her mid 20's. We had some sort of "assistant waitress" that complained about the music at the establishment she worked at, hung out at our table (maybe because we were the only table under 50 in the joint), and over-stayed her welcome by more than double an appropriate amount of time, complaining about her job as if she wanted to quit on the spot and to leave with us. Worse than that, the food sucked as well. I wasn't impressed with the menu. It was short, didn't have much on it, the stuff that was on it didn't sound very good (a tilapia ruben? really?). They didn't seem like they did the traditional sea-side restaurant fair very well (fish & chips and the like seemed more like afterthoughts than a focal points), & their sandwiches were nothing special. This is yet another bar/diner experience on the East side with no real attraction. I ordered a club sandwich... Theirs didn't come with a middle slice of bread, it was more like a two meat sandwich with bacon, no pickle... It wasn't bad, at least it had "turkey and ham" instead of "turkey or ham," but it was pretty bland. I selected the club because nothing else on the menu seemed worth trying. My dining companion had a cheeseburger which comes with stuffed cheese. She said it wasn't bad but it was under cooked. She ordered it well done and it was still pink in the middle. On top of all of that... They cool this establishment with inefficient, room-style, wall-mounted air conditioners that don't work very well, and random standup fans posted throughout the restaurant... I was sweating inside, and definitely not very comfortable. All in all I wasn't happy with my dining experience, service, or food but as long as I ate first, I guess I would go back for cheap drinks if my friend's drag me here. They have $5 stoli martini's... I guess that's worth a star?
(2)David R.
Great outdoor patio that only gets better as the night goes on. Real flame tiki torches blaze forth against the dark sky illuminating the surrounding marina. Boats, large and small, quietly cruise by as they go out and come back in to dock. You can pull up your own boat, dock and come right into the restaurant. The location is REALLY tucked into the marina so much so that they have signs that guide you every step of the way down to the restaurant. It's a little tricky to find but well worth the effort. The food was very solid. Our waitress was handling a lot of people but was still very attentive and pleasant with us. I had a chicken and mushroom special with mashed potatoes, and it was tasty. I especially liked how they left some shavings from the skin in to give it some texture. Different than the ultra-whipped variety of mashed potatoes, but still good. The veggies were nothing special, and could have been presented a little better. I recently had some veggies at Portofino's in Wyandotte that were so good and presented so nicely that they were a highlight of the meal. It's a shame when veggies are just an after-thought. My buddy had the cheese burger, which he said was really good. We both had the soup of the day, chicken noodle, which was good, but one suggestion: serve clam chowder every day and not just on Fridays. When people are down by the water they want to eat clam chowder. It's something about seeing a sea gull that makes you want to eat clam chowder. I don't know why that is, but it is. By serving it only one day a week you cut your profits on soup, and don't fully serve your customers' desires. Brownies, down the street, serves a great clam chowder full time on their menu, and I'll generally get it every time I go in there: even if it's not a Friday. Really great crowd, familes and couples, every one really happy to be down by the water, magnificent views of Lake St. Clair, solid food... this place is a gem you should check out at least for happy hour.

Sad this place wasn't better because the patio is awesome. We ordered the fish reuben and they were out of the fish so I asked if there was any other fish they could sub with it and the waitress talked to me like I was an idiot. When the food came we noticed a long obvious hair fried into the fish, so when we told the waitress she literally said " I dont think its hair because no one in the kitchen has that color of hair". So she took it, came back and said "they said it isnt haur but ill het another one gor you". IT WAS OBVIOUSLY HAIR! Would possibly go back to have a drink on the patio but never for dinner

Solid perch dinner! Crowd here is older, which sometimes is not a good thing, but we were quite pleased. Basic beer list, but they do have Sam Adams Seasonal on draft which is nice. Service was very good. Numerous servers and managers asked how our meal was, if we needed refills and took away empty glasses and plates. We both had perch, fried. Perch came with a nice panko coating. Not greasy at all, not too heavy for the fish. It just gave it a nice, light crunch. Lots of tables were ordering the shrimp cocktail, and we saw a few lobster rolls going on. I think I have already picked out what I am going to order on my next visit.
(4)Adam S.
Sat inside for a fish dinner! I was unimpressed with the decor; it seems drab and very out-dated. I was a little surprised that for a newly opened place, they didn't really renovate. Weird. Everything was clean, and it was comfortable, but just... out of 1976. The menu is very simple, but I ordered the perch off of the daily special menu. The fish was battered in panko, which was surprising, and it was good. Perfectly fried, very fluffy and flavorful. Six small filets were served with frozen fries and GFS slaw. A bit over priced ($16 I believe it was) for the main portion and quality of the sides. The fish was good, but I've had better fish at better prices. The beer list is non existent; Boston Lager and Miller Lite. Not a huge complaint, as I knew what I was getting my self into, but you're surrounded by a TON of great local breweries; get their product on your taps! Our server was very friendly, but the food was OK to mediocre. Nothing special, but not terrible.
(3)Angela R.
Horrible, horrible, horrible. After an hour with no food our waitress asked if we were ready for our bill. We explained that we had no food. She said she forgot to order it. Mistakes happen...ok. She offered to get the manager and order our food. Fifteen minutes later (still no food) the manager came out and lied about what happened not realizing the server told us the truth. I told him that we already knew what happened. He offered us free appetizers. After he lied I was less interested in being a good sport so we told him that he'd have to do better than that. Fifteen minutes and still no food later, he came back, without our food, and offered to cut the bill in half. Since we still had no food, an hour and a half after we ordered, we were not interested in arguing about the bill for food that ceased to exist. Horrible customer service. These people don't care about about customers. Never going back. Also, they did not have dock attendants.
(1)Jaci W.
New selections both kitchen & bar are outstanding...the place to be for food & fun in the "naughty"! (is a family place)...if you haven't been in a while or, at all...come on over...water's fine (so is everything else about this place!)
(5)Rich B.
Well, stopped here today for lunch. And was not overly impressed. Took them awhile to figure who would be our server. Once we got through that the girl we did end was very friendly, no complaints with her. Ordered appetizers, they were all very good, then our server comes back to get our lunch order, and tells us oh by the way, we are out of......and listed about 8 things on the menu including lobster rolls, and Ribs. Now in previous reviews this doesn't appear that is the first this has happened, who does the food ordering here !. Then we waited a good 25-30 minutes to get our food. The food was ok, nothing bad, nothing great. All in all like I said not overly impressed, won't hurry back.
(3)Jocelyn D.
My second visit and I liked it better the second time Nice menu selection fast service and very friendly. Not a real view of the water but of the harbor which is okay. They get a big crowd there so get early if you want to be seated. I would go back again!
(4)David M.
I did not like this place because the waitress spent time catering more to the regulars than anybody else. I was under the impression it was going to be an American place because of urbanspoon but felt more like they had seafood.
(1)Stephanie A.
Not at all happy about manager despite staff's valiant efforts to provide a great experience.
(1)Michelle B.
Food takes over an hour to come. They don't refresh your drink. High priced processed food. Great bar outside and atmosphere --but don't come for good service or good food, you won't find it!
(1)Bryon M.
Quick tip: Drink mixed drinks or wine, not the best beer selection.
(4)Phred P.
Meh. I had heard a lot of good things about this place before we went there. Unimpressed. First things first. We had a very nice server for our table of 7. Not a huge party, but not a small one either. Nice was where it stopped. Not once did she ask if anyone would like separate checks, which we needed. If you're looking for "good" beer, this is not the place. Miller lite and Sam Adams on tap...underwhelming. Not much better selection in bottles. We asked for a minute to look over the menu (some of our party arrived 5 minutes late), she gave us 15. 15! Are you kidding? We clearly had a infant child with us and as everybody with children knows, we have a very small window to try and eat peacefully. Let's get to the food. Between the 7 of us, we had 5 different meals. The perch dinner received a good review from our table. Nicely panko breaded, not too greasy. All in all, very good. Overpriced, but good. Mini Fish burgers...nothin special. Breaded whitefish on a bun. A hair better than a filet-o-fish. Mikes "cheese"burger. A supposed 1/2lb cheese stuffed patty. Review was "not too bad". Clearly not a 1/2lb burger, but maybe they were counting the cheese. Mini Cheese Burgers. 3 mini sliders with a pepperoni size piece of beef on each bun. Topped with grilled onions, pickles and Mikes special sauce. Special sauce? I'm pretty sure it was sweet baby rays BBQ sauce. Maybe the sweet onion variety. If I wanted BBQ sauce on my burger, I would have asked for it. Best part of this meal....pickles. Back to the service for a minute. As with a lot of places these days, some random bus boy brought out our meal. I hate this trend. Because when we were missing part if our order and or sides of extras we has to track down our waitress again to get them. Unfortunately, we did not get to experience the highly touted outdoor patio. Totally full when we arrived. No worry, we loved sitting on the beautifully decorated "sun porch" at what amounted to a kids table from thanksgiving dinner. Spare no expense Mike. ***Gluten Free Alert*** As you will learn from me, my lady has gluten issues. This place has no idea what to do about that. They told us the Caesar salad was not a good option because it had egg in it. Egg!?! No mention of the croutons. I had to ask them to check the ingredients of their dressing to be sure. Not a lot of options to be GF here. Salads, some fish options, and the shrimp cocktail. Which this place supposedly is the "home of". In closing. The chances if me returning to this joint are slim. That's mostly because I don't think it will last long enough for my field trip from the old folks home. Did I forget to mention how many old folks were there. A ton! Not that there's anything wrong with that. I give it 2 stars. 1 star is reserved for the truly mediocre. It has promise but needs to improve its beer selection, knowledge of allergies and what a good burger actually is.
(2)Ernesto V.
Mike's On the Water is cool because it's by the marina, so it's nice for a nice day =) .. You can sit outside, get some sun, feel like you're ready to hop on a boat after your lunch or couple beers.. Bad thing is you can't really see the lake... but it's still nice that you're by the water =) I had a 2-piece fish and chips and it was OK. Fries were a bit dry and almost room temperature, and the fish was not as abundant as I thought it would be for the 15 dollar pricetag. However, the flavor was acceptable and I was satisfied. I would definitely come back just for the experience to have a beer by the docks, and I'd give something else on the menu a try.
(3)Michael S.
Fish Sliderz and Mini burgers Are Yummmmm!
(4)Hazen R.
We've been here a few times and the food was decent, but this last visit had our whole table wishing for more. The food was extremely greasy, giving me a sick feeling after. Today I tried their crab melt. The outside of the sandwhich was "grilled" but really was just ladled with grease. I expected a type of crab salad, sort of like a tuna melt. What I got was canned, cold, watery crab with melted cheese on top. Really?? That's a crab melt? When are restaurants going to realize that people want homemade food they can't make at home? I could have made that crappy sandwhich, but I never would have. On top if that the ranch served was clearly bottled and the onion rings weren't homemade. Not sure we'll be back. I gave it two stars because of the last visits (over a year ago) were ok, but if they can't even maintain average, then what's the point?
(2)Marie D.
We came out on this gorgeous Friday evening, for live music on the deck and fish dip. Well, the fish dip was excellent. The music was canned and kinda irritating so we moved on.
(3)Heather H.
Cool and cute outdoor ambiance. Had the perch lunch. It was good. Chicken salad plate looked good.
(3)Cheryl R.
The food is just okay. The burgers are nothing special. The french dip is hit or miss. The mahi reuben was delicious and different! We really haven't tried too many other things on the meanu, but it's the atmosphere I love- casual, can go by boat, friendly staff. I just wish there was outdoor seating and more live entertainment. I hate sitting inside- too claustrophobic and cramped.
(3)Ron C.
Since I am always in pursuit of the 'Best Burger in Metro Detroit' , Natalie F. told me about this place, so this past Sunday (8-7-11) , I thought i would give it a try. I did not have the address & figured how hard can it be to find, after-all its on the water & between 9 & 10 mile road . . hmpf! driving south on Jefferson, it is next to impossible to see there sign as it is the lowest one on the rack, blocked by boats & cars, but we eventually found it as it is due North of jacks on the water. We were very warmly greeted by a gal that was dressed like a first mate on a ship, and she said sit anywhere you'd like & I will follow you,it was way to warm to consider the deck , so we tried the screened in porch, but that was way to warm with its 1 air conditioner and tin roof, very stuffy & hard to breathe, so we chose to sit at a high top near the bar. The place of course has a very nautical theme , decor, uniforms and the like. The menu is super simple ,as it is printed on a place-mat and has plenty of options-choices under $9. Lynn our very friendly & efficient server arrived on deck [ lol ] and took our beverage order & highly recommended the stuffed 1/2 pound cheese burger. So we ordered that & split a basket of fries . Mikes Cheeseburger $6.75 1/2 lb burger stuffed inside with your choice of cheese that oozes out with every bite. Lettuce, tomato and pickle chips... B+ The burger was good & the every bite of cheese was good, but the bun got in the way as it was uneventful /boring Perhaps 'MIKE' would consider a pretzel bun or something more flamboyant Basket of Fries $4.25 C+ nothing special, just fries Lynn our server A+ and the manager Jackie, stopped by more than once to check on us & our food.
(4)Natalie F.
My boyfriend and I stopped in for lunch yesterday, this time sitting inside, and the service was equally as wonderful as my last visit. Very friendly, personable and attentive. The Cheeseburger was everything and more that it was during my first visit, and the fries were cooked perfectly this time. I should be sure to ask if Mike's is going to close for the season or remain open.
(5)Ricky P.
I went here one time. I liked it a lot. I had some kind of nacho dip stuff and it was pretty good. I like being out by the water. Everyone seemed nice. I will make a point of it to come back. Alright!
(4)Mike S.
Took the family to Mike's for dinner and was completely underwhelmed. Mike LeFevre has done a hell of a job with the construction of the place. It has a sizable bar and a lot of seating both inside and out. He knows how to build a restaurant. The food was not up to the standards I expected. Burgers: Not at all remarkable. For being touted as a burger place, these were a big let down. You can get a better burger just about anywhere. I'm definitely not a burger snob, but the toppings were light and lacked imagination. The burger was way overcooked. If you're going to take the time to ask how you'd like it cooked, then don't cook them all well-done. Onion rings: These were good and had a light panko type breading. The highlight of the meal. Club Sandwich: Bread was stale and was the bulk of the sandwich. One slice of turkey, one slice of ham, one leaf of lettuce, one slice of tomato and one slice of cheese. It was more like a triple decker bread sandwich. One of the worst club sandwiches I've ever had. Fries: The fries were the thin shoestring style and were good. French Dip: The meat was tender but they were out of hoagie rolls. Really? You could get it on a hamburger bun or an onion roll. The menu is not that broad that you'd think they'd be out of something so basic. Service: The service was good and we got our drinks right away. A big disappointment for a LeFevre operation. I am very fair and usually give most places a second chance, but there was just too many things that I felt were sub-par and there are too many other restaurants in that area that do it better. Sorry Mike but I've got to be honest.
(2)Rudy R.
A fun, cozy place! We've known Mike for years, and he always makes sure we are taken care of, as does the rest of the staff. The French dip, fish "sliders" and fried pollock breaded in panko crumbs have been really good. While it's not gourmet fare, it's more about atmosphere. There are some occasional clinkers on the menu (the burgers indoors are unremarkable, although we've never tried the new dockside BBQ), but some are actually pretty good.
(4)Steve W.
Highly recommend. Great location. Great atmosphere. Food much better than expected. We had lake perch and blackened salmon. The burgers come highly recommended. The owner and server were very welcoming.
(4)Jilla W.
My new favorite patio spot. I really like what they did with it. Margaritas are strong and tasty, just as they should be. The Pub chips are amazing, try them with a side of the Cajun mayo. They use the nice panko bread crumbs on the fried items, it's quite good. My only complaint is the music selection during afternoon and evening hours - easy listening slow sad music or top 40 Katy Perry whining cheese fest. If the music was better I would give 5 stars. Still, it's much Better than most of the area restaurants.
(4)John Z.
My girlfriend and I came here two weekends ago, around 6pm there was a two hour wait to sit outside by the water. About 10 minutes into the wait they setup a table for two in a corner looking out to the parking lot and so we were seated. We ordered mushrooms as an appetizer, they were ok. For dinner we had fish and chips and shrimp. The food was soaked in grease and we barely ate any of it. Then we were moved when a couple of guys decided they wanted to play music. The waitress was running around like a maniac. She took are drink order and then 20 minutes later came back and asked if we wanted to order drinks. The crowd is the 40-60 year old boater crowd. We won't be coming back here again.

Great place...great food...great drinks...great people...p
(5)Dean V.
It's not bad for a bar. Don't expect fine food.
(3)John P.
Lunch 6/23/12....had the pulled pork sandwich, mmmmm it was good. I'd say the food here was good for bar food. Went by boat, had attendant help us dock, wouldn't take a big boat there, I only have a 21 ft and I thought it would have been tight for a bigger boat...but what do I know. Enjoy
(3)Bob L.
The lake perch was delicious and the service was great too. We asked to have the perch sautéed and they were happy to do so. Five of us had it that way, one had it deep fried, one had a Ruben sandwich and all of us enjoyed our meal. Great service. Fun place.
(5)Shiela J.
Lunch this afternoon at Mike's. Perfect spot for a sunny afternoon. So excited about their new patio...more spaces to enjoy the great outdoors. The new patio brings more space and its just a nice fun place.
(3)Ruth S.
Very busy prime time Sat. Night but accommodating, our waitress, Nancy, was wonderful for being frazzled from how busy it was. Good service, good food, perch was great & peel & eat shrimp was very enjoyable...I'll make this a place I would go to a few times every summer. Oh, & great entertainment too!

We love it here. Small quaint, and the locals love it. Food is really good, we have been about 5 or so times. Service is good Boat docking is available.

Love to sit at the bar, outside is outside (something we cherish in the short Michigan summer), but it can get really loud and crowded out there. Fish sliders and cold beer are the only things I'll order. Have been underwhelmed with anything else. Wish they had a suggestion box because if they could improve the food, this place would amaze.

I have to admit I approach a nautical mile restaurant with a bit of trepidation. You see, most end up being grossly over priced and then follow that up with spotty service. I am thrilled to report that Mikes on the Water has neither of those problems. In fact, not only is everything reasonably priced (even the cocktails), but the service is top notch. From the minute we entered Mikes, we encountered only the nicest, most thoughtful staff. Seriously. This place wants to make sure you are comfortable and enjoying yourself. Genuine concern and appreciation is expressed from everyone-from the host to our server to the guy who brought our food to the manager. Mikes wants you to know you are appreciated, and I really appreciate that! As for the menu, it's rather simple and not too complex, but I don't imagine you would have any trouble finding something to fit the bill. As for my partner and I, we started with the smoked whitefish dip (amazingly creamy and delicious), moved on to the mahi reuban (fresh and flaky and served on some great bakery marble rye) and the bologna sandwich with grilled onions and swiss cheese (super tasty and generously portioned). The gravy fried definitely pushed us over the edge in the calorie department, but boy were they worth it! I can't believe this is Mikes third summer in business and just our first visit. I can guarantee we will be making up for lost time in the coming months!

This is a fun place, especially in the summer. It feels like you're down in Florida with all the old guys with their unbuttoned shirts pounding beers and tequila shots, or all the dressed-up cougars having a nice time with their gal pals. It's pretty fun and you can get carried away in a hurry. A positive since my last couple visits is that they finally have an IPA on draft -- hurray, beer! It was Saugatuck IPA and it's pretty good. Beats drinking Miller Lite, god forbid. As for the food, the pretzel appetizers are still pretty good. The mac and cheese needs some work, though ...not much taste and just too liquidy and not enough crust on top. It's pretty subpar to be honest. The Caesar salad isn't bad, though I've had better elsewhere as well. The ribs are where it's really at here. Cheers.

Soft pretzels are very good for a appetizer. Warm and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Served with mustard and cheese sauce. The salad sandwich was light and fresh. I got the chicken salad and it has nice chunks of chicken and not heavy. Served on wheat toast. I enjoy sitting on the patio outside to get some sun and enjoy the summer day. Relaxing and busy. I am happy :)

Great deck bar. Fun to watch the busboys text while docking boats at their docks. Undivided attention is what killed chivalry. Intern nick... A product of radiation poising, made clear with his awkwardly, erratic table touches and hid x-men rogue style white streak in his hair. A man that Chris Hansen would monitor for illicit activity. Decently priced beers and food.

Best part of the this place is the sitting area!

The food is good (not great) but the live music and deck can't be beat. The service was a little slow for a Wednesday night but overall a good experience.

Giving this place five stars for service (our server Kaylee was a doll!), five stars for atmosphere (boats and water, casual, sitting on the deck.. can't go wrong), and three stars for the food. I had the "Michigan fish and fries".. two lightly breaded whitefish filets served with fries (obviously), and a tiny cup of slaw. The fish was very good; not too heavy on the breading, crispy and not greasy. However, the fries were kind of limp, and the slaw was lacking flavor. I never add salt to anything, but this slaw was the exception. Price for the fish dinner: $14.99. My guy had the HAMburger, a burger with ham on it. Cute. He liked it. This was served with their homemade chips, which were crunchy, had an interesting seasoning - and were addictive. We ordered a second basket of those to much on! Beer selection was meh.. I'm a porter/stout kind of girl, and they didn't have anything to offer in that regard, though I did enjoy the wheat beer they offered from Rochester Mills Brewery - and Kaylee was nice enough to let me sample a bit before I bought. All in all, a cool little place on the lake that is not pretentious, and is reasonably priced.
